Obituary For Leonnis Naomi Wilson

Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Sweetwater Cemetery in Benndale for Mrs. Leonnis Naomi Wilson, 70, of Wiggins who died November 26, 2020 at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport.

Mrs. Leonnis Naomi Wilson was born on August 27, 1950 in Benndale, MS to the late Virles and Hattie Mae Dickey. She was preceded in death by both parents, baby sister Illa Flora Mae Dickey, her eldest brother, Lee Morris Dickey and her twin, Levi Dickey. Although she was a lifelong member of Sweet Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, she regularly attended Church of the Way, Lumberton, MS until her death. She graduated from George County High School in 1969, and later attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Perkinston, MS where she met the love of her life, Mr. Johnnie L. Wilson III of Wiggins, MS. On June 17,1972 they united in holy matrimony and this marriage has remained for over 48 years. Known for her dependability and helpful spirit, Naomi made time to help others in their time of need. She was also a bold, faith-driven Christian that loved her family and friends very much. Naomi leaves to cherish her precious memories, a loving and devoted husband, Johnnie L. Wilson III; three children: Tina (Stacey) Holmes of Hanover, MD, Jonathan Wilson of Wiggins, MS, and Jermaine (Suge) Wilson of San Antonio, TX; eleven grandchildren, and a sister, Mary Posey of Biloxi, MS and brother Melvin Dickey of Benndale, MS, sister-in-laws; Shirley Blackmore, Jackie Johnson, Deborah Brown, Betty Wilson, and Pamela Wilson; a brother-in-law, DeShawn (Jessica) Wilson of Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 - 12:00 at Owens-Ramey Chapel on Saturday morning prior to the service.

DUE TO COVID-19, MASKS WILL BE REQUIRED AND NO MORE THAN 10 PEOPLE AT A TIME WILL BE ABLE TO ENTER THE FACILITY FOR VIEWING.
