Services are scheduled for 1:00 Sunday at McLain Baseball Field on Industrial Drive for Missionary Shirley A. Moody, 72, of McLain, who died October 4, 2020 at Perry County Hospital.

Reverend Bobby Ray Bolton will officiate.

Interment will be at McLain Cemetery.

Missionary Shirley A. Moody was born to Mr. Sam Blakely and Mrs. Dixie Mae Blakely, who both preceded her in death. She was joined in Holy Matrimony to Isiah Moody. Three siblings also preceded her in death; Sammie Earl Blakely, Stinson Leroy Blakely and Chris Shelmire also a brother-in-law, James McLeod.

Shirley attended Green County School System. Some of her most enjoyable things in life were singing, shopping and loving people. Missionary Shirley Moody joined Triumph The Church And Kingdom Of God In Christ in McLain, MS at the age of 16, where she worked faithfully as a licensed teacher, missionary and the Shepherd Mother for many years. She is the founder of the gospel singing group "The Blakely Family", were she sang praises to God for 30 years.

She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted husband of 52 years, Isiah Moody, Sr. of McLain, MS,; three sons; Isiah (Sonya) Moody, Jr. of Petal, MS, Sammuel (Whitney) Moody and Sammuel Byrton Moody of McLain, MS; daughters, Elder Cynthia (Min. Anthony) Bolton of Beaumont, MS, Edna (Herbert) Watts of Gulfport, Creole Denice (Greg) Bolton of New Augusta, MS and Dixie Moody of Hattiesburg, MS; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; six sisters, Gloria McLeod of McLain, Sharon Hamilton of Gulfport, Shenita Blakely, Anita Blakely and Juanita Blakely (Theodore) Smith of New Orleans, LA; three brothers, Willie (Larethia) Blakely of McLain, Mitchell Blakely and Oliver (Lorien) Blakely of New Orleans, LA; sister-in-laws, Lena Blakely, Ella Bolton, Verona Bolton and Sylvia Moody; brother-in-law, Jim Moody. A special friend, Caronlyn (Maretha) Scott and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
